Admissions for 2007 Full-time Program

Admissions Brief
BiMBA offers full-time and part-time MBA programs. The full-time program introduces international concepts with the Chinese business context. BiMBA recruits one class of full-time students(50 seats) every year.  
The course work will be finished in 18 months(1.5years).  Students usually take four courses each module, which lasts for about 10 weeks.

Application Timeline
2007 application starts from Oct 2006 till May 31st, 2007.  Since all application materials will be processed on the rolling basis and space is limited, we encourage you to submit your application as EARLY as possible.  

Curriculum
BiMBA curriculum combines the best of Chinese and American contributions. The interactive, participative American pedagogy is followed, while cases analyzed are usually from Chinese situations.

Requirements & Procedures

Requirements  
BiMBA recruits students across the world.  We welcome those outstanding professionals with high-grade managerial potential, integrity, responsibility and creativity. The applicants are expected to have:
- A bachelor degree or above
- A minimum of two years' working experience
- A GMAT score over 600
- Proficiency in English, especially oral communication
- Complete Application Materials

Interview  
Applicants who have passed the application screening will be required to have a 30-minute interview in English. For overseas applicants, telephone or videoconference interview can be organized; however, a face-to-face interview is preferred and highly recommended.  The final decision on admission will be made by the Admissions Committee. The application results will be given within two weeks after interview.

Every applicant should briefly explain why he or she would like to pursue a MBA degree and why he or she has chosen BiMBA.  In addition every applicant should give an overview of his or her past professional experience and a plan on future career development.

(English version is requested.)

Transcripts must be officially notarized.
- Official GMAT score over 600
- Photocopies of Diploma, Degree, ID card or Passport
Original copies will be checked when applicants come for an interview.
- Two or three reference letters
We suggest that at least one letter should be from a current or previous employer.
- Two passport-sized color photos
- Non-refundable application fee (RMB 300 for applicants from the Chinese mainland; $50 for international applicants)
You can make out a check of USD 50 to the institution of "Peking University".

GMAT
BiMBA offers all the courses mainly in English, thus requiring students to have a solid ground of English listening, speaking, reading and writing. GMAT measures general verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that are developed over a long period of time. It is designed to help graduate schools of business assess the qualifications of applicants for advance study in business and management. GMAT score is used by nearly 1300 graduate management programs throughout the world, and about 850 schools require GMAT score from each applicant. BiMBA has decided to use GMAT as one of the admission requirements. Generally, a minimum of 600 is required for GMAT score( The score of writing is optional).

No single criterion determines admission, but the total picture of prior academics, experience, judged contribution to the program and long-range potential are considered.

Tuition
The tuition is RMB 120,000(US$15,000) for full-time students in 2007.  It covers the cost of computer use, registration, textbooks, course materials, team-building activity and graduation fee.  Students can make a full tuition payment upon registration or on a 3-installment plan(RMB40,000/US$5,000 every half year).  Detailed information is upon request.  The tuition is subject to increase each year.

Scholarship

BiMBA offers merit-based scholarship. Fourteen out of fifty newly enrolled students (28%) will have the opportunity to receive prize, varying from RMB35,000(US$4,375) to RMB100, 000 (US$12,500).  

BiMBA Excellence Scholarship
Two students from mainland China, each prize of RMB 100,000(US$12,500).   This scholarship is offered to students of outstanding overall ability, high GMAT score and sustainable development in leadership.  
Tristate Scholarship
Six students, each prize of RMB60,000(US$7,500).  Those who are eligible for this scholarship should have a strong will to develop a long-term career in the manufacturing industry, leadership and a mature personality fit for a management environment, and excellent overall ability, which includes a good educational background, a strong track record of professional achievement, high GMAT score and outstanding performance at admissions interview.
Tristate Holdings Limited is a listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.  Headquartered in Hong Kong, the company is one of the biggest and renowned garment manufacturers in the world.
BiMBA Talent Scholarship
Six students, each prize of RMB35,000(US$4,375).  This scholarship is offered to the students with execellent overall ability, high GMAT score, great potential and good performance at admissions interview.

Facilities and Resources
Life at BiMBA is beyond description: unique, vibrant, busy yet carefree, fruitful and impressive… Students can share the facilities and resources of both BiMBA and Peking University, such as library, computer lab, gym, swimming pool, restaurant, hotel, bookstore, cinema, cafe and bar.  
Moreover, Peking University is located in the well-known University District (Tsinghua University in it), the China’s “Silicon Valley”, and an international community near Wudaokou. Students can also use the resources outside the campus.

Orientation Service
To help students merge into the life and study at BiMBA, our student service department and student association will work together, providing a series of orientation services, such as accommodation, campus tour and student partner to help each other.  
For overseas students, who might have more difficulties than those from mainland China when they settle down, BiMBA will offer more services than the above, such as student visa, lectures on cross-cultural communication and volunteer language partner.

BiMBA opened The LSE-Peking University Summer School in 2004.
Harvard Business School
During the cooperation with Harvard Business School, Michael Porter designed the course of Microeconomics of Competitiveness and wrote the cases for the course.
